Louise Giolitto, CEO, and Sue Nye, Manager Early Years, presented a whole-of-government Child Poverty and Wellbeing Strategy to the Parliamentary Friends for Children on Thursday 14 March 2019. One in three single parent households in WA live in poverty, and early intervention is critical to the wellbeing of a child and poverty is the main driver of developmental disadvantage.
A child poverty and wellbeing strategy will create better linkages between health services and community supports, and is a solutions-focused response that ensures every child has the opportunity to thrive.
