WACOSS Announces New CEO


The Board of the WA Council of Social Service is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Louise Giolitto as the Council's new Chief Executive Officer.

Ms Giolitto is a widely respected leader in the community services sector, who has served in numerous executive roles in the sector for more than twenty years.

WACOSS Members: Co Design Round Table EOI Inviation


WACOSS is planning a workshop to agree on the definition, values and principles of co-design within the scope of WA’s partnership reforms and we want to ensure WACOSS Members get the opportunity to be involved. The workshop is being held on 12 December 2016 at 9.00 - 11.00am.

Consultation on Service Integration


The Partnership Forum’s Funding and Contracting Working Group is planning an initial consultation on service integration that will be scheduled to occur immediately after the Co-Design Roundtable from 11am–noon. For more information on this session please contact Steven Hill at [email protected]
 

Associations Information Statements - Due Now!


Under the new Associations Incorporation Act 2015, incorporated associations are now required to submit an Information Statement to the Commissioner for Consumer Protection every year. If your financial year is from 1 July to 30 June, then your Information Statement will be due by 31 December. You can lodge your statement by using your Association's account at AssociationOnline.

The new Associations Incorporation Act (2015) came into effect on 1 July 2016 and WACOSS is providing a range of support to complement the Department of Commerce resources.

On 12 September 2016, the Minister for Mental Health, the Hon Andrea Mitchell MLA officially launched the Meth Helpline. Situated within the Alcohol and Drug Support Service, the helpline provides a 24/7, confidential, non-judgmental telephone counselling, information and referral service for anyone seeking help for their own or another person’s methamphetamine use.
