Not For Profit Management & Governance

Not for profit management  involves the management of major resources of an organisation namely people and money. Effective management also entails an understanding of appropriate governance structures, accountability, planning, development, human resources, funding, contract managment and the ability to think systemically about your organisations.

There are significant changes facing the not for profit sector in WA at present, including the implementation of the recommendations arising from the WA Government's Economic Audit Committee report, Putting the Public First. These recommendations will, when implemented, change the funding environment for many agencies in WA working in the human service area.  It will be vital for not for profits to be able to keep up to date not only with the policy implementation but also the practical changes to the way they manage and govern services.

The resources on this page is relevant to all not for profit organisations including, human services, sports, arts, culture and reglious groups.

WACOSS aims to support the development of these skills and systems through access to information, support services and relevant resources. The website will continue to be updated and developed to assist you in the vital role of running effective and efficient services.
