Western Australian Emergency Relief Agencies Directory
WACOSS publishes a hard copy Emergency Relief Directory of all services across WA providing material and financial assistance to people in crisis. We currently out of stock of the 2010 Directory and are in the process of editing and reprinting a 2011 ER Directory.
ER Essentials - An Advocacy Kit for Emergency Relief Services
The WACOSS, with financial assistance from Alinta Ltd, Horizon Power, Synergy and the Water Corporation, has produced an Advocacy Kit for Emergency Relief Services entitled ‘ER Essentials’.
‘ER Essentials’ is a valuable resource for workers undertaking minor advocacy and negotiation on behalf of clients. The kit provides information on how to assist clients with many of the common issues that bring them to ER services.

ACOSS ER Handbook 2011
ACOSS has started a project to update the Emergency Relief (ER) Handbook, which was last updated in 2003 (3rd edition). FaHCSIA is funding the update of the Emergency Relief Handbook.
The Handbook provides information on the quality and content of ER services, the needs and rights of clients, and the causes of poverty. It is designed as standard information from which ER agencies can develop their policies, programs and service delivery.
