What Has Been Achieved So Far?
The Climate Change Readiness for Community Services project commenced in January 2010 and between then and December 2010, a tremendous amount of work has been completed:
35 job seekers have been recruited, trained and employed;
536 community services buildings and organisations have received energy and greenhouse gas audits;
300 community service buildings and organisations have received or are in the process of receiving a minor retrofit;
3 community service organisations have received or are in the process of receiving a major retrofit
This includes 4702m2 of insulation; 1250 high efficiency fluorescent tubes; 67 LED tubes; 1021 LED globes & 60 CFL globes; tinted 14 windows; supplied 5 efficient fridges; installed 4 ceiling fan; 78 water efficient showerheads; 2 skylights; 7.79 kW’s of solar photovoltaic systems; 1 heat pump; fixed numerous leaking taps and toilets; weather sealing doors and windows; insulating hot water pipes; applying insulation paint; installing sensor lighting in bathrooms and carparks; air condition timers and sensors; replacing old computer monitors; installing solar blinds and curtains.
