In this forum, Professor Jill Rubery will contribute insights from her UK-based research on institutional structures and human resource practices in the social care sector. There will be a particular focus on her findings about the way in which the organisation of care delivery can have important effects on the economic and social well-being of care workers. Her conclusions have relevance for current policy debates on the provision of care services in Australia.
The forum will also feature presentations from key care provision experts with Professor Fiona McKenzie of Curtin University addressing regional care issues and Helen Creed, Policy Manager for Vulnerable People, WACOSS (Western Australian Council of Social Services Inc.), who will provide a discussant response to Fiona and Jill’s presentations. A brief question and answer session will follow. Time:
