Community Sector Energy Hardship Service Delivery Consultation and Survey: Where are the Gaps and Needs?

February 10, 2012

WA Council of Social Service (WACOSS) is seeking your input to help inform future Office of Energy funding opportunities to community service organisations so they can delivery services to low income households to reduce their energy use.

Consultation

Have you seen an increase in the number of your clients struggling to pay their energy bills? Are you interested in delivering innovative services to support your clients to reduce their energy bills? WA Council of Social Service (WACOSS) is seeking your input to help inform how the Office of Energy funds community service organisations to delivery services to support low income households to reduce their energy consumption.  This consultation will provide WACOSS with information about the level of knowledge and understanding the community sector has about energy, energy efficiency and energy hardship; and if community organisations are delivering services to improve energy efficiency in low income households.  It is an opportunity to share the challenges faced by community services in supporting those who are struggling with increasing energy prices and suggest new and innovative ways of addressing these challenges. As part of the consultation, participants will be introduced to specifics around energy and energy efficiency in Western Australia and alternative ways energy hardship is being addressed by community service organisations across Australia. For more information, please read the flyer or contact Luke van Zeller on (08) 9420 7222.
