Indigenous people face disadvantage on numerous fronts, disproportionate to non-Indigenous people and at all stages of life. Health, education and employment are three social indicators that Indigenous young people fare particularly poorly in.
A holistic model of service provision that acknowledges past injustices and builds on individual and community strengths is necessary to help address the disparities that exist between Indigenous and non –Indigenous Australians.
