Policy & Advocacy
WACOSS seeks to be a positive influence on policies that promote the wellbeing of all Western Australians. Our policy team exists to understand and analyse the experiences of disadvantaged and marginalised people in Western Australia, identify systemic solutions to these issues and advocate for their implementation.

In addition to these areas every year WACOSS addresses the following key areas:
Policy development at WACOSS is currently informed by research and a number of consultative processes with our members, other community sector organisations, government agencies, the private sector and the community at large. We have a 'policy bank' of established positions along with media releases, reports, submissions and letters addressing a wide range of social policy issues. In addition, our policy work is also informed by our representation on external committees, groups and forums convened by WACOSS, internal corporate planning processes, ongoing research and informal networks.
