MEDIA RELEASE: WACOSS Comments on Carbon pricing impacts, 2nd JulyThe Council is reasonably confident that the introduction of carbon pricing this week will have minimal immediate impact on most Western Australian households, after taking into account the complementary assistance package, but cost of living pressures in the community remain high. The vast majority of disadvantaged and vulnerable Western Australians and families living on low and insecure incomes should be adequately compensated for by the assistance package. Non-Government Sector Involvement in Child And Parent Centres On Public School Sites in Low Socio-Economic CommunitiesTen Child and Parent Centres are to be established on public school sites in low socio-economic communities. Each Centre will have its own Coordinator, to be provided through the Not-for-profit sector, which will also work with the school to manage the delivery of programs and services at and through the Centres.
