WACOSS Media Release: Federal Budget Takes With One Hand to Give With the Other 10th May

"The WA Council of Social Service has welcomed some great initiatives in the Federal Budget released by the Treasurer this evening, but has serious misgivings about the inconsistent budget measures and the impact they will have on disadvantaged Western Australians," says WACOSS CEO, Irina Cattalini.

EMERGENCY RELIEF CONFERENCE 2011
RENAMING AND REFRAMING ER -- 17th & 18th May, 2011

Do you sometimes feel that working in Emergency Relief is too exhausting?
Is ER the best way to provide support for the most vulnerable in our community in a way that is dignified and non-judgemental, and which allows them the space to seek their own solutions to their own problems, or is there a better way?

The 2011 ER Conference is all about linking up with others just like you and building your resources, networks and knowledge … and maybe getting a little bit spoiled in return for all your hard work! If your batteries need recharging, don't miss this chance to join ER workers from across WA at this amazing two day event on 17 and 18 May.

At $90 for two days this conference is great value, but the best part is that through the generous support from Lotterywest, volunteers, staff, and regional delegates can still apply to access funding support to help with the conference fees. Subsidies are still available for registrations, regional travel and accommodation costs.

Click here to learn more about the conference, the subsidy packages and to book online. As you can see from the program this conference is an absolute must if you work in, or have an interest in, Emergency Relief. For help with registering or enquiries call WACOSS on 9420 7222

The Emergency Relief Conference is ONLY 5 DAYS AWAY so if you are not registered already book now as places, subsidies and time are running out!
