Unlocking and Empowering Social Innovation in W.A

www.siiwa.org

Do you want to participate in a passionate exchange of thoughts and ideas with intelligent, thoughtful people of influence?

WACOSS is excited to be hosting a forum on social innovation, facilitated by Jason Clarke, one of the greatest problem solvers, innovators and lateral thinkers in Australia.

Earlier this year the Premier Colin Barnett announced an initial $2 million Social Innovation Grants Program aimed at promoting new and improved ways of delivering social and community services. The grants program is due to be released in 2011.

This workshop is an opportunity to hear what is happening across the country from community and business groups as they shift their thinking towards new and creative ways of providing long term social and environmental outcomes across the country.

This day is a forum, a workshop and an open space designed to start the dialogue around social innovation in WA. We are bringing everyone together in one place to apply creative thinking tools to develop solutions to meet the challenges our organisations face today.

The program includes speakers from Social Traders Australia, Community Sector Banking and Many Rivers Opportunities providing real examples of social enterprise and social innovation practice.

Join us on the 20th of September from 9.00am – 4.30pm for this pioneering event that is proudly supported by: Community Sector Banking, Ernst & Young, Social Business Australia and Social Traders.
We will wind up the day with drinks and networking and invite you to continue the dialogue in WA.
