MONDAY 14 FEBRUARY 2005 - WACOSS POLL RELEASED!
The Western Australian Council of Social Service today released the results of a public opinion poll that it conducted last week. The WA Social Services Attitude Poll found that over 73% of Western Australians favour more funding for key social services rather than tax cuts.

During the Election campaign, remember that PEOPLE are THE BOTTOM LINE. It’s more than a vote …
It’s the provision of practical resources and funding to the social services that help more than 530,000 PEOPLE every year.
It’s opportunities for the 16% of West Australian PEOPLE living in poverty.
It’s ensuring that we attract the right PEOPLE to the social services sector to overcome the current workforce crisis in the sector.
It’s a real commitment to the children – THE YOUNG PEOPLE - who are disadvantaged, up to 17% of our kids!
It’s providing affordable and secure housing options for the 12,000 West Australians – PEOPLE who are homeless …..and the 83,000 PEOPLE under financial stress in meeting their housing costs.
It’s ensuring that employment opportunities for West Australian PEOPLE consist of well-paid, secure, full time jobs to address the persistence and the overwhelming anxiety of underemployment.
It’s providing funding for ‘PEOPLE services’ and infrastructure to address disadvantages in rural, regional and remote communities.
It’s more than a vote when we go to the polls at this state election. Despite an economy that is performing strongly and official unemployment figures leading the nation, the bottom line is that the lives of thousands of West Australian PEOPLE are worsening every year. How can this be so?
Make sure you vote for a party that will address the PEOPLE issues.
It’s more than a vote; it’s your opportunity to make a difference for the benefit of all PEOPLE in WA.
People are the Bottom Line - It’s more than a vote!
