Juan Larranaga

State Manager | Save the Children

Juan has spent the last 9 years as the WA State Manager for Save the Children. During his time as Manager he has overseen the multi-award winning Youth Partnership Project and successfully developed and analysed evidence on the application of place based approaches in addressing the complex social issues affecting Aboriginal children and families.

Prior to Save the Children, Juan worked as the Manager of Population Health at Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Services. During his tenure, he implemented a child and maternal health policy and program and an outreach maternal health program.

Juan is passionate about contributing to a vibrant, sustainable social services sector, and exploring creative and innovative solutions to addressing some of WA’s more complex social issues. Juan advocates for a fairer WA that looks after it’s vulnerable and disadvantaged and would like to explore how we can all collectively contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

On most weeknights and Sunday morning you can find him coaching the Cockburn City Under 15 NPL Football team (that’s the real football – soccer!).
